Channel Drive Santa Barbara
Using thick oils on a gallery-wrapped canvas, this is painted from a photo on the beautiful stretch of road just beyond the Biltmore. The elegant and relaxed atmosphere is so inviting. The way the light filters onto the highway and homes is a dreamy invitation to a place where there are seemingly no cares.
This piece can be framed but I like the natural quality of the gently treated sides to make the art stand out and not compete with a frame. Or a floater frame would be recommended too.
I connected to shapes I saw in an abstract sort of way and left much to the imagination.
The quality of light is evident in the darks and lights here.
The ever-present Pacific Ocean is never far away.
