Given the size and palette of this painting, my thought is for it to adorn a fireplace mantle or on a wall behind a sofa. It is horizontal, quite long and pulls you in from one end to the other.

The setting sun and the Pavilion lit up at night is a sight to behold.

It is such a beautiful area with all the twinkling lights to illuminate the water. The Pavilion stands out like the crown jewel, especially as the sun is setting.

I used lots of paint, to see it is to appreciate all the strokes of various palette knives and lots of color mixing. I never use paint directly from the tube, and this piece is a real study in color mixing.

The sky was challenging, to not make it look too much like fire, and to make the ocean in the background believable but still keeping it loose, darkening and not the main focus.

Sunset paintings are challenging but very rewarding and this one is becoming a favorite of mine.

My hope is it finds a good home where the collectors know this beautiful spot and appreciate the true- to- life quality of the piece.
