Various shapes and sizes can create a thing of interest when you find the shadows and connect all in a pleasing way.

Still life paintings are a wonderful way to learn and to find your style. I love to do them as warm ups and they ultimately become an actual work as I want them to read as well as I can.

Editing is important and to not let too much "noise" in a still life. 

Between the objects and the shadows there is enough going on.

This and one other still life have been accepted into the Chemers Gallery Heart of Orange County art exhibit.
